From the USGBC website: USGBC’s new podcast series, “Built for Health,” explores the various impacts the built environment has on human health. The series is hosted by former Schneider Fellow Flavia Grey, a PhD candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. With a focus on the dynamic interaction between occupant well-being and building sustainability, “Built for Health” brings public health professionals and researchers together with architecture, engineering and construction practitioners to discuss how to design, build and operate healthier buildings.
The premiere episode addresses one of the most important and widely recognized health factors in the built environment: air quality. Adhamina Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of AR Green Consulting, and John Spengler, PhD, Akira Yamaguchi Professor of Environmental Health and Human Habitation at the Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health, discuss the impact of indoor air quality on our health, looking at the influence of ventilation, moisture and the off-gassing of building materials.
